Locking On and Guarding are moves which can be performed by holding the Z Button. This allows the player to both lock onto a nearby enemy or select objects and view their remaining health, and enable auto-guarding, so long as Travis is not being moved using the Control Stick. While playing the game on the Sweet difficulty, auto-guarding can also be enabled by simply not tilting the Control Stick, regardless of whether or not the Z Button is being held. Locking On to enemies will also display the amount of hits they have taken.
