No More Heroes Wiki

The Galactic Superhero Corps is an imperial army of aliens led by FU and his ten assassins that came to Earth appearing in Santa Destroy for the intent of taking over the planet, and are the main antagonists in No More Heroes III. To accomplish world domination, they've utilized the popularity of superheroes in the USA by becoming a galactic league of "superheroes" themselves with the assistance of Damon Riccitiello, hence the name.

Powers and Abilities[]

Whilst having increased strength, speed, and endurance, similarly to most of the UAA assassins, the leaders specifically process some more unique abilities:

  • Flight: Atleast FU and all his friends have so far to be shown to fly when they descend from their ship.
  • Power Transference/Resonance: Seemingly unique to FU, he can gift a human with some of his power giving them psychic, supernatural abilities - which can be boosted if they resonate them together. Alone, Damon has shown a basic-level of technology manipulation and is implied in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes that he can use limited mind control (only shown on Kamui Uehara who is also implied to be undead/psychic). However in conjunction with a child FU can seemingly telepathically communicate, telekinetically move (possibly create) objects and manipulate technology to a greater degree.
  • Energy Beams: Ohma emitted a beam that transformed a stretch of organic life across the horizon into cartoon monsters.

Story[]

This is based on an upcoming release and therefore is subject to change as new information is revealed.

Past[]

20 years before the events of No More Heroes 3 (8 years before No More Heroes, 11 before Desperate Struggle and 18 before Travis Strikes Again) Damon investigated an object from outer space that crashed near his home, discovering a spaceship and a young FU. Damon took the alien in as he tried to find a way to return it to space. The two became close friends, and Damon was infused with FU's alien powers during this time. Eventually, they managed to build a full-fledged rocket ship together, which Damon used to send FU back into space. FU promised he would return to the Earth.

In those 20 years, FU claims to have become a prince, destroyed another planet and escaped an intergalactic prison called Blackhole Prision, meeting and befriending the inmates, and gathering his army at that time, and eventually founding the Galactic Superhero Corps when planning to invade Earth.

Travis Strikes Back[]

No More Heroes III[]

When FU returned, he greeted Damon at the place where they first built the rocket however FU reveals his plan to invade the Earth, processing to destroy an entire city with a pink beam leaving a mushroom cloud stretching across the horizon.

Trivia[]

  • Much like how prior installments of No More Heroes take on, satirize, and heavily deconstruct and reconstruct trends and elements of popular culture, superheroes are the main focus of No More Heroes III. The Galactic Superhero Corps apparently is based off of high sci-fi superhero settings and concepts, specifically to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, The Silver Surfer, and Phoenix, DC's Lobo, Superman, and The Green Lantern, and to even older comic series like Image's WildC.A.T.S. and The Pitt.
  • Though this may be due to the prominence of the likes of the 2010s Marvel Cinematic Universe, the concept of superheroes themselves bear an overlooked history of flaws and contradictions in their morality and themes, specifically to how censorship as forced by The Comics Codes of the late 20th Century demanded superheroes be role models to a younger audience, could not actively perform acts of capital punishment on the irredeemable and abhorrent, such as executing foes, and showcase simplistic cut and dry black and white morality. Although pacifism and codes of conduct are noble in their own right, it must be true to one's character than anything else; one noteworthy example is how Superman once was depicted as a paragon of justice for all peoples and was more of a vigilante until the Comic Purges of the 1950s when comics were rounded and burned in moral panic of comics not being of "American moral fibre", and Superman was then reintroduced as a superhero who represented "Truth, Justice, and The American Way" and was more of a law abiding individual that would earn him the later moniker of "The Big Blue Boyscout". In the long run, this would also come to show how the superhero mold would be used to restrain individuals to existing authority and their whims than a superhero's own agency.
  • Later into the 1970s and late 1980s, the rise of wanting to incorporate more mature topics and content would culminate into the rise of graphic novels, indie comics, and even slow incorporation of "special episode" topics like tackling the rise of youth drug use, until the 1990s alternative media craze in effect from the pacified and overly indulgent 1980s prompted greater backlash of the rise of the antihero by the likes of Image Comics, and subsequently, the dawn of the Dark Age of Comics into the mid 1990s. With The Death of Superman marking this era, its gimmicks and focus of style, edginess, and overt sensationalism would result in the Comics Crash of 1996, which would further tarnish the reputation of comic books, and leave an opening for Japanese video games, anime, and manga to fill in a niche for the US market until the Great Recession of 2008 and a reinterest in superhero movies with the groundbreaking Iron Man movie.
