The Death Glove is a new weapon and mechanic first appearing in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, and returning in No More Heroes III.
The glove was designed by Dr. Juvenile, alongside the Death Drive Mk II console, of which she can communicate to Travis with in No More Heroes III. This is worn on his left hand.
Travis Strikes Again[]
In TSA, the Death Glove has a wide variety Chips that give the wearer a skill that the player can set to either of the directional buttons on the left Joy Con.
While the vast majority are universal, all the playable characters have unique skills.
Universal[]
- Wing Chip - Fires electricity at enemies in a straight line. Paralyzes on contact.
- โ (Infinite) Justice Chip - Pulls in and attacks enemies with a special wire.
- F91 Chip - Creates a copy of the user, which makes all enemies flock to it. Clone disappears after 8 seconds.
- Strike Freedom Chip - Fires a guided laser in a location set by the user.
- Physalis Chip - Throws a capsule that spews purple gas in a cross. Any fire-based attacks ignite the gas.
- Crossbone Chip - Creates a skull-shaped turret that fires at enemies near it. Disappears after 10 seconds.
- Dendrobium Chip - Drains life from nearby enemies, adding to a ball of energy. Releasing the button while charging throws the ball at the target.
- Shining Chip - Grabs an enemy from far away - targeting the closest. Holding the button allows the user to move their captured opponent, and letting go throws them away.
- Heavy Chip - Creates an area of effect that slows down all enemies inside for 5 seconds.
- Self Chip - Creates an area of effect that pulls in nearby enemies. Disappears after 5 seconds.
- โ (For All) Chip - Creates a shrinking healing field that dissipates after 10 seconds.
- ฮ (Xi) Chip - Makes the user invisible to enemies. Wears off after a set time or upon attacking.
- Atlas Chip - Throws a bomb that sticks to an enemy or a wall, which blows up after 5 seconds.
- Unicorn Chip - Creates a field that drains life from nearby enemies.
- Double X Chip - Sets down a prismatic bomb that detonates after 5 seconds. Kills low-rank enemies and blasts players back (but deals no damage to them.)
- Destroy Chip - Puts up a wide wall of energy that blocks most attacks.
- V2 Chip - Spins around rapidly for 3 seconds. Can move the user while spinning.
- Psycho Chip - Fires a 3-bullet spread shot that stuns enemies (including bosses) on contact.
- 00 Chip - The user perfoms a quick dash.
Travis[]
- BCB (Blueberry Cheese Brownie) - Lowers Travis' movement speed in place of greater attack power.
- NBMB (Nuts Berry Milk Blancmange) - Temporarily causes Travis' normal attacks to release a shock wave.
- Travisman Formation - Can only be used together with Badman.
Badman[]
- Bad Hop - Bats a flaming ball that can ricochet off walls.
- Triple Crown - Drinks a beer. Increases attack power up to 3 times, but has higher chance of getting drunk with each consecutive beer, resetting effect and making Badman vulnerable.
Shinobu[]
- Gekkลken-Ran - Takes a stance. Can rapidly stab the opponent with repeat button presses within 3 seconds, ending with a final stab.
- Isamiashi-Shinobu - Does a flying kick. Holding the button increases range and power.
Bad Girl[]
- Cleanup - Sets her bat aflame. Attacks are explosive and cause greater knockback.
- Prospect - Charges up, then does a powerful swing of her bat.
No More Heroes III[]
Through this, Travis has access to 4 abilities, which all run on a cooldown timer:
- Death Kick (โ) - A strong dropkick, knocking the targeted enemy away. Teleports to the enemy if used from a distance.
- Death Rain (โ) - Throws up a large blue ring, which fire projectiles at all enemies within the circle. Moves above the enemy if used from a distance. Can kill and activate the Slash Reel.
- Death Slow (โ) - Throws down a large blue ring, which drastically slows the speed of everything inside it - including projectiles. Deals no damage.
- Death Force (โ) - Puts a grid around the targeted/nearest enemy and pushes them back a great distance. Can kill and activate the Slash Reel.
Trivia[]
- The glove itself looks like a pair of Joy Cons atop the hand.
- The names of the Universal Chips are taken from multiple Mobile Suits from the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.
- Some of the chips are named after Ultramen from the Ultraman series, such as Taiga, Taro, Ginga, Victory Cosmos, Gaia, Leo and Orb.
